Two days of games, guests and many events culminating in the victory of Standing Rock and a special announcement.
On the iconic frozen lake of St. Moritz in Switzerland's Engadin Valley, the US Polo Assn. celebrated its debut as the Official Jersey and Apparel Partner of the 41st Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz. This special event featured world-class competition, alpine elegance, fan activations, VIP experiences, and a global celebration of the sport. At the end of the two days of play, Standing Rock prevailed over Flexjet with a hard-fought 6–4.5 victory. Now in its 41st year, the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz once again confirmed its status as a unique tournament, bringing together international players and their horses for the premier event in high-handicap polo played on snow. The event also brought 26,000 spectators to St. Moritz, including sports fans, media, models, influencers, and special guests from around the world, to witness a total of nine exciting high-level matches, culminating in the action-packed finale on Sunday.
The tournament showcased top international talent, with a roster of champions from Asia, Europe, North and South America, and the Middle East. In the final match, a converted penalty and a late goal by Raul Laplacette secured Standing Rock's victory. Congratulations also go to Team Flexjet, which finished second, who performed excellently thanks to the performances of captain Joaquin Castellvi, Pelayo Berazadi, David Stirling, and Tito Gaudenzi. Standing Rock's Raul Laplacette received the match MVP award, while Big Brother, ridden by Standing Rock's Max Charlton, won Best Playing Pony. The Best Playing Patron of the entire tournament was Team St. Moritz – Top of the World captain, Sebastien Aguettant.
“It has been an extraordinary experience for the US Polo Assn. to be the Official Jersey and Apparel Partner of the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz for the first time,” commented J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global. “This historic tournament perfectly reflects what the US Polo Assn. stands for: a combination of authentic sport, exceptional athletes, and a global community brought together through sport in one of the most extraordinary environments in the world.” Making the event even more significant, the US Polo Assn. was also announced as the Official Jersey and Apparel Partner of the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz through 2030. “The Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz combines performance, heritage, and international visibility in a way that strengthens the US Polo Assn. brand in Europe and cements its roots in the sport,” said Lorenzo Nencini, CEO of Incom, the European licensee of the US Polo Assn. apparel. “Events like this play an important role in how the US Polo Assn. connects with consumers in the authentic spirit of sport through our global brand.”
One of the main attractions on the lake was the US Polo Assn. boutique, where the US Polo Assn. St. Moritz Capsule Collection was on display, featuring official team jerseys, technical down jackets, wool and cashmere sweaters, wool and cashmere quarter-zips, and cashmere beanies.
